Construction Sales Executive | Business Development

$60,000 - $65,000 Base Salary + Uncapped Commission

Location: Royse City / Northeast Texas
Job Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire
Schedule: Hybrid / Field-Based
Territory: Northeast Texas + Occasional Oklahoma & Louisiana
Benefits: Benefits Package, Paid Time Off

We're Looking for a HUNTER. Someone Who Knows Construction and Knows How to CLOSE.

TrendHR is partnering with a growing, established metal building contractor in Northeast Texas seeking an experienced, results-driven Construction Sales Executive to help expand its business.

This is a SALES position, not an estimating position.

We're looking for someone who has a successful background in construction-related sales, whether that's roofing, residential or commercial construction, metal buildings, general contracting, remodeling, or another construction-related industry.

The company provides qualified leads and has a dedicated estimator who will work alongside you to develop project pricing and proposals.

Your responsibility? Build relationships, meet with customers, present solutions, follow up, negotiate, and CLOSE THE DEAL.

But here's what really matters.

We need someone who knows how to HUNT for business, not just wait for the phone to ring.

You'll have leads coming in, but we want a salesperson who has the drive, relationships, and business development instincts to create additional opportunities independently.

If the leads slowed down tomorrow, would you know exactly what to do to generate new business?

If your answer is YES, we want to talk to you.

What You'll Do

  • Own the sales process: Manage opportunities from the initial conversation through signed contract.

  • Convert company-provided leads: Connect with prospective customers, identify their needs, build trust, and move opportunities toward a sale.

  • Generate new business: Proactively develop relationships, network, seek referrals, and identify potential customers and projects throughout your territory.

  • Meet with customers: Conduct phone consultations, virtual meetings, in-person appointments, and project site visits.

  • Partner with the estimator: Work directly with the company's estimating professional to develop accurate, competitive project proposals.

  • Present and sell solutions: Walk customers through project options, scope, pricing, and value while helping them make informed purchasing decisions.

  • Overcome objections and negotiate: Confidently address customer concerns, discuss pricing, and ask for the business.

  • Follow up relentlessly: If a customer doesn't sign during the first meeting, stay engaged, address objections, and continue working the opportunity until a decision is made.

  • Build your pipeline: Maintain an active pipeline of prospective customers, referrals, and future projects.

  • Close deals: Turn conversations, meetings, and proposals into signed contracts and revenue.

What We're Looking For

Construction sales experience and a proven ability to close business are essential.

We're interested in candidates who have successfully sold construction-related products, projects, or services, including:

  • Roofing and exterior construction

  • Residential or commercial construction

  • Metal buildings, steel structures, or barndominiums

  • General contracting and design-build services

  • Remodeling, renovations, or construction improvements

  • Other construction-related products or services involving consultative, high-value sales

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • Proven success in outside sales, business development, or consultative selling within the construction industry.

  • A true hunter mentality, with the motivation and ability to generate business independently.

  • Experience managing the entire sales cycle, from prospecting and initial meetings to negotiations and closing.

  • Strong relationship-building skills and confidence meeting directly with homeowners, business owners, contractors, and other decision-makers.

  • The ability to understand construction projects, discuss customer needs, and communicate effectively with an estimator.

  • A strong track record of following up, overcoming objections, and closing high-dollar sales opportunities.

  • The discipline to manage a pipeline, prioritize opportunities, and work independently.

  • A self-motivated, competitive personality with a strong desire to grow income through performance.

  • Willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory for customer meetings and site visits.

Metal building experience is a plus, but it is NOT required.

You do NOT need to be an estimator. You need to understand construction, know how to sell it, and have the confidence to close.

Compensation & Work Environment

Base Salary: $60,000 - $65,000 + Uncapped Commission

Your earning potential is directly tied to your ability to develop opportunities and close business.

You'll have the flexibility to work from your home office, meet customers remotely, visit project sites, and spend your time doing what successful salespeople do best: building relationships and generating revenue.

You'll also have the support of an experienced estimator, allowing you to focus on selling rather than spending your days preparing detailed construction estimates.

Why This Opportunity?

You get the best of both worlds: Company-provided leads AND the freedom to build your own book of business.

You'll have the support of an established construction company, a dedicated estimating resource, and the opportunity to earn uncapped commissions.

But we're not looking for someone who simply takes orders.

We're looking for the salesperson who follows up when others give up. Who knows how to create an opportunity when there isn't one sitting in front of them. Who understands that a proposal isn't a sale until the contract is signed.

If you're a construction sales professional who knows how to HUNT, SELL, and CLOSE, we want to hear from you.

Apply today through TrendHR to learn more about this opportunity.
